The idea of the piece came in 2011, during important political and social movements that were happening around the world; Arab Spring revolutions, Movimiento 15- M in Spain, Occupy movement, Occupation of Teatro Valle in Rome etc… While writing the script and imagining the communities that will read it, we were trying to reflect on the place of theatre and its capacity to create collective experiences and exchanges. We were also interested in the idea of “ voice” and the representation of individual voices in the public space in particular. 

In We Are Still Watching the role of spectators-readers coincides with the role of citizens-voters. With their participation and contribution they activate the potential contained in the performative situation to which they are invited. They create a “ common” during the performance. One of the questions that we kept asking ourselves when working on this performative proposition was: How to stay political and “ personal" in an extremely scripted and seemingly “well organised” societies?

Through her choreographic and theatrical work as well as her performances, installations and texts, she creates poetics of language, questions the body and its representations, rethinks the politics of the spectacle and the spectacular, revisits the place of imagination and the imaginary, questions the notion of "participation", explores the idea of value and continues to be inspired by the relationship between performer and spectator.
Her work is often experimental, radical and formally innovative. The idea of movement and the body remain central to her artistic interest. Although she performs in different forms, the theatre remains the main context in which she develops and presents her work. Her pieces have been produced and presented in multiple festivals and theatres in Europe, the United States, Brazil and Asia over the past 17 years.
Occasionally her work is also shown in the context of visual art, including the 2015 Venice Biennale, Garage Museum OfContemporary Art (Moscow), Hayward Gallery/Southbank Center (London), Kunsthalle (Düsseldorf), National Museum of Singapore, Zachęta - NationalGallery, Warsaw. As part of her artistic practice, Ivana Müller organises artistic and discursive encounters and collaborative practices, and frequently teaches in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, the Institute of Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen, the University of Paris 8, the University of Hamburg, the Zürich School of Art, Berlin and Brussels. 
Ivana Müller was born in Zagreb and grew up in Croatia and Amsterdam. She lives in Paris and works internationally.
